The OTDR wavelengths cover the applications of regular end-to-end fiber characterization (1310/1550nm), premise/enterprise LAN testing (850/1300nm), FTTx fiber link construction verification (1490nm) and PON live fiber troubleshooting (1625/1650nm with filter). The integrated PON Power Meter can perform in-service testing of all PON signals (1310/1490/1550nm) on any spot of the network featuring pass-through design and burst mode support. palmOTDR is your ultimate solution to meet various testing requirements of entire fiber network.
In-service testing (1625/1650nm with filter)
Testing through splitter, splitter and fiber end identifiable
Shineway OTDR – palmOTDR – Live Optical Signal Check
When Shineway OTDR palmOTDR tests with 1310/1490/1550nm wavelength, the live signals transmitting in the tested fiber may not only affect OTDR measurements but also damage the equipments connected to the network (SDH/WDM/PON) and OTDR receiver. palmOTDR series avoids the problem by starting in-service communication check before testing with message warning and auto termination functions to effectively protect test instruments and communications equipments.
Shineway OTDR – palmOTDR – Built-in PON Power Meter
The integration of PON Power Meter into such a small unit of palmOTDR makes FTTx certification and troubleshooting an exciting experience and efficient work. The PON Power Meter module can perform in-service testing of all PON signals (1310/1490/1550nm) on any spot of the network featuring pass-through design, burst mode and Pass/Warning/Fail assessment function, which can greatly help you evaluate PON signals transmission quality.

MODELS
OFL280-100 provides the best balance of functions and value for many users. Dual-wavelength testing at 1310 and 1550 nm is normally sufficient to certify point-to-point or FTTx (PON) networks and detect macro bends.
OFL280-103 triple-wavelength model adds ServiceSafe™ live fiber detection with integrated PON Power Meter. Configuration is simple with the following functions provided from a single test port:
Certify dark PON and point-to-point networks at 1310/1550 nm
Perform high-resolution fault-location of dark or live FTTx PONs at 1625 nm
Measure FTTx power levels at 1490 and 1550 nm
OFL280-101 and OFL280-102 models offer 1310/1550 and either 1625 nm or 1490 nm test capability, respectively.
AFL’s exclusive Wave ID source and power meter feature is provided in all models. With Wave ID, the power meter automatically synchronizes its wavelength to that sent by the Wave ID source at the other end of the fiber. Test time is significantly reduced, and wavelength setup errors (mismatch between source and power meter) are eliminated.
The NOYES OTDR OFL280 OTDR FlexTester user interface is equally suitable for both novice and expert users, and features a top-down menu structure that is easy to learn and efficient to use.
OTDR test results may be saved as .SOR files, which can be transferred to a PC for viewing, printing, and analysis using supplied Windows® compatible TRM 2.0 Basic Test Results Manager software. TRM can also be used to view OPM and FOCIS connector inspection results and integrate them into test reports.
Advanced analysis and reporting capabiities, including macro-bend detection and bi-directional trace averaging, are available by upgrading to TRM 2.0 Advanced.
NOYES OTDR OFL280 OTDR Additional Features
OTDR, PON OTDR, live fiber OTDR, and FTTx PON Power Meter all from one test port
Full Auto, Real Time, and Expert OTDR modes

NOYES OTDR CS260 OTDR Contractor Series Handheld Troubleshooting OTDRs
NOYES OTDR CS260 OTDR Contractor Series handheld OTDRs enable cost-effective troubleshooting of FTTx PONs and point-to-point metro/access networks. Two models are offered: CS260-10 FTTx PON Activation and Troubleshooting OTDR: 1625 nm Live PON OTDR providing 35 dB dynamic range, best-in-class 0.8 m event and 3.5 m attenuation dead zones, integrated PON power meter and Visual Fault Locator (VFL). CS260-20 Metro/Access Troubleshooting OTDR: 1310/1550 nm OTDR with 30 dB dynamic range, 0.8 m event and 3.5 m attenuation dead zones plus integrated Visual Fault Locator.
The CS260-10 and CS260-20 are purpose-built for optical network activation and troubleshooting tasks. With its integrated PON power meter, the CS260-10 enables verification of downstream 1490 and/or 1550 nm power levels at an FTTx PON ONU or ONT. If downstream signals are absent or power is too low, the CS260-10’s 1625 nm Live PON OTDR allows a technician to scan the network from the ONU/ONT or a network access point to locate fiber faults such as macro-bends, breaks, poor splices and dirty or damaged connectors. The live PON OTDR utilizes an out-of-band 1625 nm wavelength to prevent disrupting the 1310, 1490 and 1550 nm signals present on an in-service FTTx PON.
The CS260-20 is designed to troubleshoot point-to-point metro/access networks operating in the 1310 and/or 1550 nm wavelength regions. Its short dead zones enable precise location of fiber faults. With 30 dB dynamic range, the CS260-20 can locate faults in networks up to 60 km (40 miles) in length.
CS260s are derivatives of AFL’s popular OFL280 and FLX380 FlexTester families, offering the same ease-of-use, high-contrast indoor/outdoor display and over 12 hours of continuous battery operation. Both models also include an integrated VFL (visible red laser) designed to visually pinpoint the location of macro-bends or breaks in splice closures, access terminals and splitter cabinets.
Over 1000 OTDR test results may be saved internally in industry-standard .SOR file format. Stored OTDR results may be transferred to PC via USB port for viewing, analysis, and professional report generation using included Windows® compatible TRM® 2.0 Basic Test Results Manager software. Advanced analysis and reporting capabilities – including macro-bend detection and bi-directional trace averaging – are available by upgrading to TRM 2.0 Advanced Test Results Manager.
NOYES OTDR CS260 OTDR ORDERING INFORMATION:
All CS260 kits include rechargeable, replaceable Li-Ion battery pack, AC charger with country-specific power cord, user-specified adapters for the OTDR and VFL ports, dust caps for all ports, USB cable, TRM® 2.0 Basic Test Results Manager software, and a quick reference guide in any one of the supported languages.

Advanced Analysis Software
The Advanced Analysis software features macro/microbend detection and bi-directional trace analysis and is available for the M310 and in TRM 2.0 Advanced Analysis PC software. Macro/Microbend detection helps technicians identify installation problems. Excessive bends or stress on fibers will show up as excessive attenuation at higher wavelengths. These bends or stresses are indicated on the Event Table with a special icon. Bi-directional trace analysis, used to resolve errors due to mis-matched single-mode fibers, measures the loss of events in the End 1 to End 2 and End 2 to End 1 directions, then calculates a two-way average of the OTDR’s loss measurements, which is the true loss of the event.
